Cat Quotations

“As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.”
Ellen Perry Berkeley

“Before a cat will condescend
To treat you as a trusted friend,
Some little token of esteem
Is needed, like a dish of cream.”

T.S. Eliot

Cats helped or re-homed in 2007

Home -> Cats re-homed -> 2007

Here are the stories of some of the cats we have helped in the past.

Picture of Murphy

Murphy was an older cat, thought to be about six or seven years old at the time he came to Hamilton's Cat Fund. His original owners had to reluctantly give him up when they moved to a new house, where they were not allowed to have animals. Despite Murphy's handsome looks and playful personality, it took several months before he was rehomed, during which time he was fostered by the Fund. However, Murphy is now happily settled with his new family, where he is known for his friendly and doglike personality, as he is a constant companion to his new owner.

Picture of Sheba

Sheba had been rehomed by Cat's Protection to a lady, who sadly developed a very serious illness about 5 years later. The owner had many hospital stays, which meant leaving Sheba on her own, with relatives popping into feed her. The owner, conscious of how unfair this was on Sheba, reluctantly asked Hamilton's Cat Fund to find a new home for her. Sheba was an older cat, suffering with a chronic discharge from one of her eyes, which need vet attention. It took several weeks for us to find a new home for Sheba, during which time she remained in foster care. Her new owners were delighted with her friendly and loving personality, and were not put off by her eye problem. Sheba is now well settled with her new family, and is about to move to the countryside.
