Cat Quotations

“As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.”
Ellen Perry Berkeley

“Before a cat will condescend
To treat you as a trusted friend,
Some little token of esteem
Is needed, like a dish of cream.”

T.S. Eliot

Cats helped or re-homed in 2008

Home -> Cats re-homed -> 2008

Here are the stories of some of the cats we have helped in the past.

Picture of Levi

Levi had been living happily with her elderly owner until her owner had to move into a residential home. Initially, Levi was homed by a young family on the same estate, but unfortunately, after a couple of weeks, her new family realised that they couldn't keep her. At this point, Levi was taken in by Hamilton's Cat Fund. She was thought to be well into her teens, and although she was healthy, many prospective owners are put off from taking on an older cat. However, we were able to find Levi a new home, living in a flat, where she continued to be an indoor cat, as she had been with her original owner.

Willy Wonka

Picture of Willy Wonka

Willy Wonka had been a stray for a long time, when his feeders noticed a problem with one of his eyes, which had become very swollen and infected. Hamilton's Cat Fund was contacted and we took Willy to the vet. Unfortunately, the vet had to remove Willy's bad eye. The Fund supported Willy until he was well and then we were able to find him a new home, as despite his ordeal, he was a gentle, loving cat. He has settled in well with his new family and enjoys all the home comforts.

Picture of Cleo

Cleo was a very tiny kitten when she was found sitting all alone under a parked car in Herne Hill. Originally named Bert by the lady who found her and brought her to be looked after by Hamilton's Cat Fund, she was hastily renamed Cleo when it was realised that she was a girl. Cleo is being fostered until she is old enough to be rehomed. She is a mischievous and extremely playful kitten, who loves attention from her carers. She will soon be ready for rehoming and would be suitable for most types of homes, but would need an owner who could give lots of attention and play. If you are interested in adopting Cleo, please contact us.

Picture of Cash

Cash is about three years old and has already been in the wars before coming to the Fund. He has lost a leg in a car accident, but manages very well on his remaining three legs. Cash's previous owner developed an allergic reaction to him and asked us to find him a new home. Cash is a friendly cat who would be suitable for a home with children or another cat. If you are interested in adopting Cash, please contact us.

Picture of Blue

Blue came into the care of Hamilton's Cat Fund as his owner was unable to cope with his occasional aggressive behaviour. Blue has been in foster care, where his behaviour has improved. Most of the time, he is a cuddly, friendly cat, but will occasionally attempt to bite or take a swipe. Blue is aged about one year. He would suit an experienced owner, in a home without small children or another cat. If you are interested in adopting Blue, please contact us.
