Cat Quotations

“As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.”
Ellen Perry Berkeley

“Before a cat will condescend
To treat you as a trusted friend,
Some little token of esteem
Is needed, like a dish of cream.”

T.S. Eliot

Cats helped or re-homed in 2010

Home -> Cats re-homed -> 2010

Here are the stories of some of the cats we have helped in the past.

October to December

Picture of Carrie

A 3 legged cat, she came to us in September. She was being bothered by tom cats as she was on heat.

We caught her, with the help of the couple who were feeding her. She was spayed, and microchipped.

No one knows how she came to have only 3 legs, but the vet said she could have been born like it. She does not let it stop her getting around!

She was homed in November to a flat, and has been renamed Lucy.

The new owners are delighted with her. She is already sleeping on their bed!

July to September

Picture of Joey

Joey is about 2 years old. Unfortunately, his owner died this year, so he came to us.

He is a confident cat who looks like a streetwise boy. He settled in quickly and is eating for Britain.

Ron of Essex

A delightful, but very energetic cat, known as Scar. He was finding it hard living in a flat.

We got him neutered, but he was still very exuberant!

He came to us for rehoming, and has been renamed Ron of Essex!

April to June

Scruffy Ears

Picture of Scruffy Ears

This splendid cat was a feral cat, bothering the cat owned by one of our cattery clients.

We lent her a trap. She trapped the cat and the fund paid for him to be neutered and checked over.

After a couple of nights here to recover, he went back to the site and was no longer such a nuisance!

We seem to have been calling him Scruffy Ears...no idea why!

We also checked to see if he was micro-chipped, he wasn't!

Picture of Jesse

Her owners were devastated when she had to come to us. She was one of 4 cats in the family, but a serious allergy of one of the family members meant all the cats had to be re-homed.

She is a charming, very friendly cat, aged about 10 years, who went to live with a 14 year old cat called Barry, one of our boarders.

Joey, Chandler & Phoebe

Picture of Joey

They were all owned by a young woman, who also owns the mother cat. She could not afford to keep them all. We helped out by getting the mum spayed, and then took in the kittens, who were all rehomed together!

January to March

Podgie, Pickle and Peachey

Picture of Podgy

Three long haired black cats, a mother, and two sons from different litters, all aged between 5 and 7 came to us at the beginning of January, after their elderly owner had died.

We were very fortunate to home them all together in February.

They have now been renamed Freeman, Hardy and Willis!

Picture of Fudgie

Fudgie also came to us after his owner died in January.

He is a fine looking cat who we were told was about 10 years old....

He was unwell soon after he went to his new home, so the fund assisted with these unexpected expenses.
