Cat Quotations

“As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.”
Ellen Perry Berkeley

“Before a cat will condescend
To treat you as a trusted friend,
Some little token of esteem
Is needed, like a dish of cream.”

T.S. Eliot

Cats helped or re-homed in 2012

Home -> Cats re-homed -> 2012

Here are the stories of some of the cats we have helped.

October to December

Tiger

Tiger

He is a well-loved and looked after cat, but unfortunately his owners are unable to keep him in their current accommodation, and reluctantly have decided to rehome him.

He has had all of his medical needs attended to, including a recent dental.

He is friendly, and gets on well with people and other cats. He is 10 years old.

Update: Tiger has been rehomed and is living with another cat locally.

Mabel

Mabel

Mabel is 7 years old. She is a short-haired black cat.

She is a solitary cat. She likes to be curled up, away from other cats and would suit being an only cat.

While she doesn't like being around other cats, she loves being around people and is very loving.

She loves eating anything, but mainly prefers dry food. She has had all her jabs and is regularly wormed. She is litter and cat-flap trained and is a fan of sitting outside, high up.

Mabel's owner has had to make the difficult decision to rehome her cats due to her daughter's allergies.

Update: Mabel has gone to live with a young couple locally. Their landlord is also involved in the rehoming and Mabel will stay with the landload when the couple are away.

Mimi

Mimi

Mimi is 6 years old. She is a long haired black/brown cat. She is extremely affectionate and loving and wants to be stroked and petted often.

She is very good at self-grooming, although does not mind being brushed as long as she gets lots of cuddles at the same time.

She has been spayed, she is regularly de-wormed and all her jabs are up to date.

Mimi is an excellent family cat, she is gentle with children and adults and she rarely makes a fuss about anything. She is litter and cat-flap trained but spends most of her time indoors next to a warm radiator or on a comfy seat.

Mimi is a lazy, loveable cat (her nickname is Bagpuss!).

Mimi's owner has had to make the difficult decision to rehome her cats due to her daughter's allergies.

Update: Mimi and Suki have been rehomed together in the Midlands with the sister of one of our cattery customers.

Suki

Suki

Suki will be 6 years old in November. She is a long haired tabby cat.

She has been spayed and has had all of her jabs. She is also regularly wormed. She is cat-flap and litter trained.

She is a cat that loves to have attention. Mimi (above) and Suki are incredibly fond of each other and love to be together. We would love them to be homed together. They groom each other and usually sleep together, curled in a ball.

Suki has a tendency to be a little timid at first, when she sees people she does not know, but once she is used to people, she is very loving.

Mimi and Suki

She is also camera shy (hence the photo being blurred and under a table!). She is brilliant at grooming herself, and prefers that to being brushed.

She has a gentle nature about her, but will fight off anybody for catnip treats!

Suki's owner has had to make the difficult decision to rehome her cats due to her daughter's allergies.

Update: Mimi and Suki have been rehomed together in the Midlands with the sister of one of our cattery customers.

July to September

Jess

Jess

Jess has been living with a woman with dementia who could no longer look after her.

The Cats Protection were able to quickly re-home her and she has settled in very well in her new home.

Diesel

Diesel

Diesel is a pale round ginger cat who was dumped at the vets. He has now been rehomed with a neighbour of the vets.

When he was with us he ignored us, and made a point of hiding when we went into his room.

When he was visited by his potential new owner, and her young son, he turned on the charm, came out, wound his way round the boy's legs and purred!

He is now in his new home, and renamed Leo.

April to June

Juno

Juno

Juno's owner contacted us to ask if we can find a home for her. She had not settled with the other cat in the household and so needed a home without other cats.

She is 4 years old, very sociable, fine with adults and children, and needed a home where she can go out. She stayed with her owner while she could be re-homed. The good news is that Juno has moved with her owner and settled. Her owner was happy to keep her, which we are very pleased to hear.

January to March

Jazmine and 3 kittens

Picture of Jazmine & Kittens

We have just taken in (1st December) Jazmine, and her 3 kittens. She is black and white and should return home after she is speyed.

The kittens are about 3 weeks old, 2 tabbies and 1 black. Jazmine is a timid domestic and had her kittens in a very inaccessible part of someone's garden. We will keep them till they are homed, we'll get her chipped , speyed and return her. She is very young, possibly not a year old!

In January one of the tabby female kittens was rehomed and is now named Cleo. A week later the black male kitten, Brian, and his sister were rehomed together, also named Cleo!
